Dams!

Constructing Time!

By Abby Kaarla

Over the weekdays we worked and challenged ourselves to constructing and researching about Dams, we all had so much fun constructing, and learning about Dams! In our projects we got approximately about 2 hours to design and construct our Dams. The goal was to have a cheaper budget but still get it to work properly. and we got to find and pickout mostly any material on the Tables we would like! We had teams which were our table mates!  The project helped us out with getting teamwork done, and sharing, and learning of what we were capable of when we put our minds to work! Creativity is key! And the challenge was you and your team would have to construct a dam with materials like sponges, hot glue and more things like that. So each team would have a amount of money for each item, but the thing is you don’t have a budget…..but you want your teams and your dam to be strong and won’t float away as well as,keeping the houses dry. And the houses were cubes, every group had six total. And we had land like buckets that are one and only lovely Mrs. Chittenden took time for us to make… She put gravel, sand, dirt and more! When we did our experiment on 3/29/19! When we put the water everyone observed if all the houses got flooded, fell in, basement damage and more. There was a first, second, and third place…. Based on the knowledge the teachers got. We filmed videos, and pictures:) Over-all everyone had a fun and enjoyable time if you ask me!
