World Down Syndrome Day

Special Notice from Chittenden Challengers!

As noted on www.awarenessdays.com, “World Down Syndrome Day” (also known as WDSD) is a global awareness initiative that has been backed by the United Nations since 2012.  It’s celebrated on 3/21 because people with down syndrome have 3 of their 21st chromosomes! And they ROCK that EXTRA chromosome!

It has been spearheaded by Down Syndrome International, which has linked up with national charities across the world to develop activities and events to raise awareness and support for those living with Down syndrome. It also highlights the facts of what it’s like to have Down syndrome, and how those with Down syndrome have, and continue to play, a vital role in our communities.”

Let’s get people talking about WDSD on March 21, 2019! How??? By wearing MISMATCHED SOCKS!!!

Chittenden Challengers are looking forward to participating in WDSD by wearing fun, colorful, mismatched socks on Thursday,  March 21st. We are also encouraging people to wear blue and yellow, which are the colors of Down Syndrome.
